The price of laser cleaning depends on many factors, so there is no single flat rate for the service. The cost can vary depending on the material being cleaned, the surface, the type of dirt, the thickness of the layer being removed and access to the work site.

Laser cleaning is used, among other things, to remove rust, paint, soot, deposits and industrial dirt from metal, wood, brick, facades and stone. Every material and every surface needs the right machine settings, so each quote is prepared individually.

What does the price of laser cleaning depend on?

The cost depends above all on what needs to be removed and from what surface. Two jobs of the same size can take completely different amounts of time.

The price is affected by, among other things:

  • the type of material being cleaned,
  • the size of the surface,
  • the type of dirt,
  • the thickness and number of layers of paint or other coatings,
  • the degree of corrosion,
  • access to the element being cleaned,
  • how complex the surface is,
  • the required level of accuracy,
  • the location of the job,
  • whether the work has to be done on site at the client’s premises.

That is why giving the surface area in square metres is not always enough to determine the real cost.

Does laser cleaning have a price per m²?

For simple, repetitive surfaces, a rate per square metre can be used. It is not, however, a universal way to price every job.

For example, cleaning a large, flat surface of a single type of dirt can go much faster than removing many layers of paint from a small element with lots of details, mouldings or hard-to-reach spots.

For this reason, on more demanding jobs the actual time needed to clean the surface thoroughly matters more than the area alone.

How much does laser rust removal cost?

The price of laser rust removal depends mainly on how corroded the surface is and how big it is. A light layer of surface corrosion can be removed much faster than thick, long-standing corrosion that needs several passes.

The type of element also matters. Cleaning a flat steel structure may be priced differently from small parts with a complex shape.

Laser rust removal is often used to prepare metal for painting, welding or corrosion protection.

How much does laser paint removal cost?

The cost of laser paint removal depends, among other things, on the number of layers, the type of coating and the material under the paint.

Removing one thin layer can take much less time than cleaning a surface covered with many layers of old paint.

Laser technology is used, among other things, to remove paint from:

  • metal,
  • wood,
  • brick,
  • facades,
  • stone,
  • architectural elements.

If you are interested in removing old paint from wood, also see our page on laser cleaning of wood.

How much does laser cleaning of wood cost?

The price of wood cleaning depends on the type of element, its surface and the type of coating being removed. This is especially important for old beams, doors, stairs or decorative elements, because cleaning them requires due care.

On wood, the laser can remove old paint, varnish and dirt, among other things, without aggressive abrasive methods.

How much does laser cleaning of brick and facades cost?

The price of cleaning brick or a facade depends on the area, the type of dirt and how much of it has built up.

Removing light atmospheric dirt may take a different amount of work from cleaning brick covered with old paint, soot or deposits built up over many years.

On large facades, access to the surface and the ability to work efficiently also matter.

How much does laser sandstone restoration cost?

Sandstone is a material that needs a particularly careful approach. The price of cleaning it depends on the type of dirt, the condition of the surface, the size of the elements and how detailed the work is.

The laser can be used to remove atmospheric dirt, deposits, build-up and residue of old coatings.

The technology is used, among other things, to restore facades, stairs, architectural details and historic buildings.

Why can two similar jobs have different prices?

The area alone does not tell you how much work cleaning it will take.

For example, two elements of 10 m² each can differ several times over in how long they take. One may have an easily accessible, flat surface with a single layer of dirt. The other may have many layers of paint, corrosion, recesses and hard-to-reach spots.

That is why a professional quote should take into account not only the area but above all the actual scope of work.

Is it worth comparing the price of laser cleaning with sandblasting?

When comparing cleaning methods, it is not worth looking only at the price of the service itself.

Sandblasting may be more cost-effective on large, plain surfaces where speed of removal matters most. Laser cleaning, on the other hand, works where precision, minimal intervention in the surface and removing a specific layer without heavy abrasion are particularly important.

So the choice of technology should depend on the type of job, not only on the price per square metre.

How to prepare for a laser cleaning quote?

To prepare as accurate a quote as possible, it helps to provide some basic information about the planned job.

Ideally, send:

  • photos of the surface,
  • approximate dimensions or area,
  • information about the type of material,
  • a description of what needs to be removed,
  • information about the location of the job,
  • if possible, information about the number of paint layers or the type of dirt.

Based on this information, the scope of work can be assessed in advance and the approach determined.

Is laser cleaning more expensive than traditional methods?

Not always. The price depends on the specific case and the technology used.

On some jobs, traditional methods such as sanding or sandblasting will be more economical. On others, laser cleaning can reduce extra surface preparation work or allow thorough cleaning of an element that cannot safely be subjected to aggressive abrasion.

That is why the right question is not always “how much does the laser cost?” but “which method is best suited to this surface?”.
