Germany: sandstone entrance portal, court building
Germany, 2026. Laser cleaning of a historic sandstone entrance portal of a court building. We worked as a subcontractor, under the supervision of a heritage conservator.
The portal has rich stone detail: tracery, pinnacles, ornaments and a sculpture above the entrance. A surface like this cannot be cleaned safely by sandblasting or chemicals, because either method would damage the original stone and blur the detail.
We removed the dirt with a 500 W pulsed laser, following the conservator’s guidelines and taking particular care to preserve the original structure of the sandstone. We worked from a lift, without dismantling any elements and without scaffolding the whole facade.
We also work in Germany and across the European Union.

Church in Poland: laser paint removal from wood
Church in Poland. Laser paint removal from the wooden elements of the interior, with the furnishings left in place.
Work inside a church starts with protection: the altar, furnishings and pews are covered with foil and the work area is separated from the rest of the interior. Higher parts are cleaned from scaffolding, and all the equipment stays on site in the nave.
The laser uses no water and no abrasive, and the fine dust from the removed layer is collected with an extractor. We remove the paint from the wood layer by layer, without sanding and without chemicals, so the wood keeps its grain and profiles. This makes it possible to work inside without removing the furnishings and without flooding or covering the church in dust. On heritage buildings we work to the conservator’s guidelines.

Residential building in Poland: laser cleaning of old brick
Residential building in Poland. Laser cleaning of old brick on the facade.
The facade combines old brick with light window surrounds and details. On a wall like this, sandblasting would strip the hard, fired outer layer of the brick, and pressure washing would wash out the old joints and drive water into the wall.
We clean the brick dry with a laser, without abrasive and without water. We remove only the dirt, while the brick face and the joints stay intact. For the upper floors we work from scaffolding.

Primary school in Poland: laser removal of deposits from brick
Primary school in Poland. Laser removal of deposits from a brick facade.
The old school building has a red brick facade with arches over the windows and brick detailing under the cornice. We removed deposits from the brick that had changed its colour over the years and darkened the whole wall.
The laser removes deposits dry, without chemicals, without abrasive and without water. The brick regains its natural red colour, while the brick face and joints stay intact. In a public building it also matters that no abrasive is left to clean up and the walls stay dry.
Polychrome paintings in a church
Laser cleaning of polychrome paintings in a church. Wall paintings are one of the most difficult materials to clean. The paint layer is thin, sensitive to moisture and cannot be recreated if something goes wrong. Every mechanical method and every chemical is ruled out by definition. That leaves the laser, set to remove only the deposits without touching the pigment underneath.
Doors in a tenement building
Eight pairs of doors with their frames, covered in several layers of oil paint applied over decades. A joiner’s first assessment was that they needed replacing.
The paint came off layer by layer with a pulsed laser, including from the profiled recesses, where sanding would never have reached. The edges of the profiles kept their original crisp lines.
All eight pairs went back in place after sealing. No replacement was needed.
